Pink...glad it went well. My 2nd treatment was 100% better than the first. I think the first was so bad b/c I had the port put in that same day...not to mention the first-time anxiety. I didn't want to say anything before...but I was ready to quit all of this after my first treatment!!! This was was fine.

Nancy...so nice of you to notice!! I sent you a PM tonight! As you know, I've been home "hiding" from the H1N1--and whatever else is going through my school. Yesterday 40% of my 7th graders were out!! I'm not sure if its the time change, levels, etc...but I've been tired. However, last night, I was wide awake at 2 AM (used the time to pray for everyone!!) In addition...I'm trying to "de-clutter" my house ... my cleaning service is coming tomorrow ( www.canswerlink.com) I'm am so totally embarrassed!! Over the last few years tending to my husband's medical needs...I've become very good at putting my housework at the bottom of my priority list! Not to mention our house is an old farmhouse--filled with dust & cobwebs--and several "projects in progress!" The people who run this service seem so nice---but it is one of the hardest things I've ever done--to let someone clean for me! My friend (college roommate) has contacted them to arrange a mid-monthly cleaning in addition to the 1/month free one they offer. I'm sure I'll be fine with it all once we get started!! Thanks for keeping an eye out for me!! Karen

Hi Nancy, I'm hanging in there, was a rough day yesterday and I felt dizzy most of it and hung out in bed most of it too. Mark came by at lunch and made me eat cereal and made sure I had water. Treatment number 5, so only one more to go but they are worse each time for sure... Looking forward to number 6 and heading back to Chattanooga : ) Hugs, Paula

Good morning ladies! Thanks so much for checking on me. I've done remarkably well, I think. If it didn't get any worse, I'd be golden but I have learned from all of you and the nurses that some of the effects are cumulative. I've had some heartburn and a little nausea but as long as I don't let my stomach get too empty, it's been ok - haven't had to take any meds for that. I credit all of your advice (hydrating, prilosec, rest, etc) for my fairly easy ride so far. The steriods have made me hungry so that has helped (although I'm sure not for weight - so much for losing weight on chemo!). Tomorrow I have my first blood draw so we'll see how that goes. Any advice on how to ride out the "valley"? I'm thinking of all of you and carry you with me each day. I'm affirming all of us will be well and live long lives. I'm so grateful - it was very hard to put my first post out there but then wow - there you all were for me - like magic! Thanks!

So, how's everyone feeling now? Paula, getting more excited by the minute that final is coming. Pink, I'm on dose dense and neulasta and have realized that the days BEFORE the blood test are probably the lowest days with wbc counts. Last round I went in before neulasta kicked in and was neutropenic. This week was OK but we waited an extra day to test (I can feel the Neulasta kicking in) so suspect the past weekend through Tues I might have been low. Ask onc when it might kick in low - I say don't count on the tests. On a positive note, chemo was last Tues, Neulasta has kicked in so this Sunday Arnie and I are going outlet shopping in Conway NH – mainly for our new grandson. Still will be extra careful but I am not neutropenic! Hang in there all!! PS: Karen I owe you a PM... busy with work but will get one out soon
