Hi ladies,
Off tomorrow for a 300 mile trip to visit with hubbies mom and brother and family.   Will before we come home stop and visit my parents gravesite.
Will be so glad when I am done with the arimidex...hoping that some of the joint pain will improve.
Watched the Stand up 2 cancer tonight....sad but inspiring!
Have a good weekend everyone!

Enjoy your trip Julie and the visit to your parents resting place, this is a sad week for me as its Mums second Anniversary on Wed, gets harder rather than easier I think. My sis bil will join us for an early morning Mass, breakfast and then out to lay flowers on her grave. Regarding the Arimidex I was given the generic for the first time this month so hoping I don't have any extra side effects!

Have a safe trip Julie.

Tricia - Hard to believe it's been two years, although I'm sure it seems an eternity to you.  My mum will be gone 20 years!! Oct 8th.  Damn, she must be enjoying that cruise :)

Super windy here this morning -- Texas weather is so weird.   Andreas had a friend sleep over last night.  They were going to sleep in the game room, but I guess they changed their minds and there I was this morning with two 7 year olds in the bed -- so cute when they're sleeping.

Have a lovely weekend.

Hug

As I commented on the forum for "Living with Stage IV", I am delighted that the Komen Foundation has finally decided to acknowledge via an ad about stage IV.  The Race is for survivors, and please don't say it isn't.  Survivors meaning you had breast cancer were treated and are now fine, living your life.  The organization is named for a woman who died from her stage IV, why the need to play it down when we have come along ways since the day Susan died.  We still have a long ways to go but pretending it doesn't exist won't make it go away.  I am very, happy that I am around to see this happen.

Hi DJ. I don't know what ad that is. Can you tell us more? I tried Googling it and didn't find what I was looking for, but I came across this: http://breastcancersisterhood.com/_blog/Brenda's_Blog/post/Komen_and_Women_with_Stage_IV_Breast_Cancer/
The blog she quotes says exactly what you said about stage IV people not being "survivors." I respect you, DJ, so when I say this, I'm not saying it to argue with you--it's just that it's hard for me to wrap my brain around what it would be like to have stage IV bc. I have always thought of you as the ultimate survivor, but I'm coming to understand why that term does not apply and why you don't want to be so labeled.

Take care, DJ.
