Odors of Cancer

My name is Jodi. I am finishing my thesis for school focused on the Odors of Cancer. I am trying to gather a collection of poems from survivors, relatives, friends, or supporters of cancer who have a certain odor that they relate to cancer. If you are a survivor, relative, friend or supporter of cancer and when you smell a specific scent it somehow reminds you of cancer, you should be able to contribute a poem. The scents can range from an antiseptic at the doctor's office to a pair of rubber gloves or the ointments used on stitches and scars to the linens in hospital for a survivor. Other scents can range from a certain perfume or cologne to a flower garden or a food delicacy to a dusty old quilt that reminds you of a relative or friend who had cancer. The poems are accessed online to create at jodipfister.com. I need as many poems as I can collect with participants. Simply click on the 'Contribute' link at the bottom of the page to start a poem. You will be sent to a short questionnaire asking questions about the smell, the cancer and how they make you feel. When you are finished with the questions, click on the 'Preview' button. Your poem will be generated using the answers you provided. You can then further customize your poem and edit it to match your answers before it is finalized for submission. You can also add new lines as you see fit to make it your own. When you are finished editing, click on the 'Submit' button and your poem can now be viewed on the 'Read' tab below. If you could please take a minute to fill out the questionnaire and forward this message onto anyone else, it would be greatly appreciated to finish my thesis for school. Thank you so much for your help. I am looking to collect around 100 poems. So, I need as many volunteers as possible. If you have any questions, please contact me at pfister2@buffalo.edu. Sincerely, Jodi Pfister
