46 seems to be a common number. That's me, and my mom had died of bilateral breast cancer. I found one of my tumors myself and the MRI found the other one.

I was diagnosed this July - three days after my anniversary at age 63.  It was small and my surgeon said it had been there awhile but was very slow growing.  Mastectomy done and on Arimadex.  No past history of breast cancer, no smoking, no drining but am a bit overweight.

I'm 44 now, was 43 at diagnosis and considered too ' young' at first for Mammosite (internal radiation).  Insurance wanted 45+, but they gave it to me anyway when I refused traditional and said I wouldn't have known about Mammosite unless my surgeon hadn't mentioned I seemed like a candidate for it.

I was/am 49.  Turning 50 in Dec.
 
DCIS with partial mastectomy on Oct. 17 and now awaiting biospsy results.  Will have to have radiation according to my surgeon.
