I will be donating to planned parenthood instead of your foundation. Your decision was an emotional one void of logic and reason.

When Planned Parenthood decides to use their funding properly and to allow employees who are against abortion to not participate and keep their jobs, then they will be deserving of future funding from foundations such as Susan G. Komen. I support the decision to withdraw funding the PP, they are not operating ethically and are under investigation for the same. Thank you Susan G. Komen, I appreciate the strength of conviction it takes to make such an unpopular stand. Thank you.

Reducing funding to Planned Parenthood will do nothing, not one single thing, to reduce the number of abortions in America, but it WILL increase the number of poor breast-cancer victims who die because they cannot get their cancers detected in time for treatment to be effective. Mm-hmm, that is some serious respect for life the "pro-lifers" are demonstrating.

THANK YOU!!!! Susan G. Komen for protecting women from 2 substantial causes of breast cancer, 1. pharmaceutical contraception, 2. abortion by discontinuing funding of the nation's largest provider of both of these, Planned Parenthood. Access to appropriate community facilities which provide mammograms, not just clinical exams and referrals out while their core services cause breast cancer is the right thing to do. Kudos Komen! Courage!!!

So far, donations to Planned Parenthood have run @ $200,000.00 every 12 hours since the Komen annoucement. The total so far is $650,000.00. Oops, looks like action has consequenses. Planned Parenthood has announced that all of the money will be used for breast cancer screening, diagnosis and referral. Yay!

Hi I am Niko. Cancer is terrible. Cancer is also a big corporate money making business. Susan G Kommen is a corporation in disguise. I hereby declare I will contribute to the efforts to eradicate Susan G Kommen from the state of OREGON. Good-Bye Suzi

Well, what a shame: I used to enjoy the Race for The Cure. Ran it every year for many years in honor of my MIL, a breast cancer survivor. But no more. I can no longer support an organization which puts political ideology ahead of funding mammograms for poor women.

I saw somewhere in this thread the comment that Planned Parenthood was "bombing" the Susan G. Komen forum. I can only speak for myself, but I was compelled to sign up and post because of how upset I was to hear the news and especially how disingenuous the SGK spokesperson appeared when interviewed today. For a foundation whose mission emphasizes early screening and education to deny funds to a major provider of these services to uninsured, under-insured and low income women makes no sense. That this decision would be made in response to an ideologically motivated congressman's decision to "investigate" PP is both irresponsible and incomprehensible. Over the years, I have supported and believed strongly in the work of both organizations, but now I have completely lost respect for SGK. We don't have PP in our town, but many women here depend on the services of a similar organization, which like PP is the only option in the area. As an uninsured woman, I would have had to go without a mammogram, three follow-up mammograms and sonograms and a biopsy, had the service not been available to me this year. So I know first hand how important PP is. I think you make a huge mistake, first in cutting off PP, and then underestimating how angry so many people are, with or without being connected to PP. Everyone I know is as upset as I am and will not be buying pink ribbon items or donating to/participating in walks. Where is your integrity and commitment to battling cancer for ALL women? How can you turn your back on the very women that need support for screening most, and at a time when the economy has left so many without insurance, savings or jobs? It's unconscionable. I am so disappointed, but mostly I am just sick.

SGK, please don't reverse your decision! I can now support Susan G. Komen! Thank you for your decision to stop supporting Planned Parenthood. Yeah!!! If you only knew the damage that Planned Parenthood's "services" have done to my family you would never consider supporting them again! They contribute to the emotional ruin of lives and families.
