I am deeply disappointed in your decision to deny funding to Planned Parenthood. This can only be viewed as bowing to political pressure from the extreme right and will now politicize your organization to the detriment of the very women you are trying to help. What about the poor who have no other options? the people that Planned parenthood has served for years. The only reason I signed on to this forum today was to register my disgust at your actions. Now you have become a pawn in the ongoing battle by the fanatic fringe to turn back the clock on women's health. What a pity.

Breathtaking betrayal. I knew cancer funding could be politicized, but I thought that was the purview of cynical politicians. Now I see it's the specialty of Koman, also. So much for low income women's health. No more pink ribbons or Komen runs for me. Like others, I'll be sending my $ to Planned Parenthood.

I too have just joined this site to let them know how disgusted I am with SGK's decision to pull funding of PP.  I will likewise stop DONATING anything to SGK and continue to back PP.

Well, I, for one, heartily applaud Komen for making such a bold move and standing up against Planned Parenthood, a real cancer on our society. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I will support Komen now because of it.  It is sad to see the amount of verbal vitriol being aimed at Komen however, it just shows you how largely uneducated women are about the detestable and underhanded goings-on at PP all in the name of 'women's reproductive health'. Nothing could be further from the truth! (Check out Liveaction.org to get a better idea).
The bottom line is that PP profits from the killing of tiny, unborn babies. Period. (Read Unplanned by Abby Johnson, a fomer PP Director, to get the other side of the story).
NO ONE should support PP. 
In the meantime, I congratulate Komen for making such a powerful statement, one that is both brave and beautiful- just like the women they support. Thank you SGK!

Over the last five years I have raised over $20,000 for your organization.   Those days are done due to your disgusting decision to pander to the religious right wing zealots.

I will encourage everybody I know to pull their support from the Susan G Komen  Foundation.  I will not purchase any merchandise that benefits your organization.

I couldn't believe this. I went to two different sources to confirm. Then I sent this e-mail: If what has been reported, that Susan G. Komen is denying funding to Planned Parenthood, I am appalled. I would appreciate a response either clarifying or correcting this information. I have always supported your Foundation. I thought that it was wonderful and did very good work. I am new to Komen, but I will not be giving them my support. They have lost any respect from me due to their decision to politicize women's (and man's) health by cutting off their funding to Planned Parenthood. This just makes me very pleased that I have always supported PP and will continue to do so in even higher donations. My husband had breast cancer, so this is a cause very close to my heart. I support Planned Parenthood and the great service that they provide to screen for this devastating disease. Thanks for letting me have my say. I am horrified (and I do not use this word lightly) that the Komen foundation pulled funding for breast exams from Planned Parenthood. No other single organization does more for womens health, taking care of women from every economic bracket, than Planned Parenthood does- preventative, educational, and treatment. Instead of supporting Women's health, The Komen Foundation chose to bend to a few extremists. WOW. That is truly horrifying.

 I posted to my facebook about it, and have talked to all my friends that I know donate to SGK. None of us will be giving another cent. This is a serious step back for womens health. How dare you take money that we all donated in good faith and not use it to help women get exams, and take preventative measures, but instead to take a political stance. That shouldn't be what this foundation is used for, we are disgusted.

I will no longer be donating (as I had every year) to the race for the cure, or anything Komen related.
