Please excuse any typos. Pain meds are working and anti-nausea pill slowly working.

Surgery is done. PS just did lipo/fat transfer. He was concerned about too much surgery on breast to do nipple reconstruction. So I go with his recommendation and it will be done at final surgery when he severs latissimus muscle. Really really sore and already bruised! I put compression underwear on when I got home.

Once I came out of recovery to final area for observation, hubby told me the devastating news in my niece Megan. She was stage III in 2008 after bilateral mastectomy. Chemo and radiation.  In Feb 2011 found a small mestastic in lung. Hysterectomy was done as BC us estrogen positive. BC has metadtized to ribs, back, and hip. It is now in her spinal column. When Craig told me the news I started crying. Nurse was coming in and thought I was having lot if pain, so we explained to him what was going on. My sister and her hubby are in their way (driving) to Portland. I di not know any more but sister will keep us updated.  Please keep healing thoughts and prayers for Megan. She is 37, married and has a 7 year old girl, Cella.

Joyce, so sorry that your neice is going through this....it is so sad.  Keeping you and your family in my prayers.  

Diag. Oct 2003 with 6mm mass, IDC grade III ductal carcinoma in-situ, Inflammatory Breast Cancer stage IIIB, Her2+++.   I had A/C followed by Taxotere (only had 2tx as I had heart problems from it); Left Mastectomy followed by 35 rads.  Recurence in 9 months as skin mets to mast. site. tx Carboplatin/Herceptin,  stayed on Herceptin every other week for almost 4 years only stopping when my ejection fraction would get too low. off herceptin & ned 3 years in 2010

I am so very sorry Joyce regarding the sad news on Megan, I am praying for you all.

Good to hear you are home but not so good on the pain, take care Joyce.
