Postmenopausal here on Arimidex, so no hot flashes, but terrible joint pain. I'm glad this is an indicator for an overall survival rate. I had joint and back pain as well as neuropathy in hands and feet before treatment of BC. During treatment I had no neuropathy at all, very little joint/back pain. Is any treatment available for this? For the neuropathy I took (still do) neurotin - 900mg per day. It doesn't seem to be working anymore. Help!

Thanks Sharon, I've never heard this before and glad to say I've had lots of joint stiffness and pain since starting Arimidex so hope this study is correct!

I have heard this theory before but now it's good to see a study that confirms we aren't suffering (mildly of course) for nutin!

Sharon, I have neuropathy in both feet and my left hand. My onc has me taking Effexor 300mg for it. At first I didn't think it was helping so I started to reduce the amount and come off of it, but half way thru it I noticed my feet were feeling worse. So I started back taking the full 300mg. Right now it just feels like my feet are in sand all the time but nothing like it was before taking the Effexor. I am on Arimidex and since being on it I've been having some hot flashes but not too bed. Happy to say no joint pain or stiffness.

Hi all - new to the forum, well recently anyway. I am a 10 year survivor. Did surgery, chemo, radiation followed by tamoxifen. After a few months on that one I was switched to Arimidex due to bone ache & stiffness. With Arimidex I had less, but still noticeable. Hot flashes were my main "affliction" and to this day I still have 2-3 per day with night sweats a couple of nights a week. By now, I just grin and bear it and keep a fan handy because nothing helped. We started with the herb dietary supplements and worked our way up through Neurontin with no success. I wish you all the best in your journey!

Well, I am on arimidex and have no side effects, no joint pain, no hot flashes. So now I feel worried!
