Sorry for my late reply ladies and I think this is normal although it does sound like you have a cold or infection there Smarti! I think it was 6-8 weeks before I even began to feel less tired and remember feeling very frustrated by that but we have to remind ourselves just what our bodies have been through and they need this time to recover. I began doing just a short daily walk for twenty minutes and built up slowly and it really did help both my energy and mood.
Good luck to both of you and continue to rest if you need and listen to your body's needs!:)

I didn't have a fever but did have breathing issues and leg exhaustion (which is what I call it). It felt as if I had been riding bike uphill and the muscles were spent. I still have the feeling when I climb stairs. I have always wondered if it wasnt the chemo. I had taxotere as well. Glad you are both done though!! Great feeling.

marianwolf-thank you for your reply,sorry to hear that you must also do radiation, I know how you must feel. I have the second part of my reconstruction surgery on March 9th, and am trying to get myself prepared for that, I think your is harder. tricia-my sister had to come get the puppy for some reason that puppy smell I use to love is now making me nauseated.

I also feel incredibly exhausted and I'm almost 6 weeks from T/C. I've also run a mild temp and am taking ClaratinD. I get short of breath and my legs ache all of the time. For the exhaustion I walk 2 times a day -- not much more than a city block but then I have a very bad back which is actually improving since the walking. That's the only suggestion I have. I start radiation tomorrow and will post there as needed.

Tricia, is it normal to be so exhausted 3 weeks after the last chemo. The last few days I have been running a fever of 99.5 to 99.1 the back down to my normal of 97.8,I have a hard time breathing also, guess it's a cold. I did call the oncologist and they have called a zpack in for me to start taking. I just can't seem to get over the exhaustion I just want to sleep. Any suggestion?

Oh she's beautiful and a real looker, what a thoughtful hubby you have Smarti and I hope Reina gives you lots of happy days and cuddles!! She'll be a good excuse to get out walking as you try to build up your stamina!!:)

Tricia, that's my new puppy Reina my husband got for me on the day of my last chemo. She's a red Siberian Husky. I've had silver and white, black and white but have always wanted a red one.

My chemos seemed to get worse at least the first 4 which were different drugs than my last 12....as they say this too shall pass and you will start feeling better soon I hope... in the meantime...pat yourself on the back you did it, you are finished, what an accomplishment....and alone ( I understand that as most of my time was just with my son who was 19 and husband was away in another country for much of my treatment). Be proud sister..you are a hero!!

I just finished my fourth and final treatment and this by far has been the worst, sounds weird glad I'm not alone.
