Hi, all! Hope your holidays were good...hubby and I drove to MN from CA for Xmas to see our daughters and his family. Great trip...despite getting a very NASTY flu! Got it from my granddaughter (2 yrs old), so at least we got to spend tons of time together because no one else wanted to get near us! I never threw up with chemo and the mild compazine controlled my chemo nausea...however with this flu, my doctor phoned in an RX for Zofran for me while out of state! Which helped, but did not eliminate, the flu nausea/vomitting. The worst is over thankfully. Had a wonderful trip back; stopped at Arches National Park and stayed in a suite at the Aarchway Inn...celebrating our 29th wedding anniversary (Jan 2). 29 and holding!!!! Back to work and back to monthly oncologist appt this Fri for Faslodex shot and Zometa infusion. And back to dragon boating practice this Sat. :-) Suzanne

Hi Suzz and thanks for the update and congratulations to you both on your anniversary!
What a shame you had the flu and often happens when around little children who get so many colds and flu, a similar thing happened to a friend of mine visiting her Grandchild in the U.K for Christmas!
I'm so glad you're feeling better now and ready to pick up your treatments this week, enjoy the dragon boat racing!!:)

Hi Suzzane,

Congratulations on your anniversary!  Sorry about the damn flu; sounds like you had a bad one.  But happy that you're on the mend and back home after a good visit with your family.

Keep me in the loop if you come back to Mother's Beach for dragon racing.  I would love to stop and at least say hi to you.

Hug

Just a quick update.  My chemo treatment of Taxetere is starting to work.  Oh happy day.  My numbers are starting to drop.  I am on my fourth cycle and will have two more to go, then reevaluate where we go from there.
If I knew how to get the dancing bananas I would give me a couple.
Thanks for letting me be happy.  First good news in over a year.

Found lump at age 65 - 9-05; DX 11-05; Surgery 12-05; Port installed - 3-06; chemo - 1st 4-10-06, last - 7-10-06; Arimidex - 8-1-06, went topless - 9-23-06; port removed - 3-20-07

Mets to the bones, official diagnosis June 2011,  Faslodez failed me;  Port reinserted 10/11/11; Taxotere 10/24/11,
Xeloda, 3 or 4 cycles, couldn't tolerate it at all. 10 cycles of Halavan. Next up: back to Faslodez for 1 year.

"Having a thought for Jill and her Family who as we know as "The Founder of this "Thread" Rest well Jill"

Dear Sharon,

I remember Jill in a vague sort of way.  On the forum I was on and invitation came to join this board.  I came over for a look and see.  At the time I was NED and thought I was cured.  Finally, I decided that my mets was "over with" believing I was in the 1% range and left.  When I came back in 2009 I believe, she was at the end of her journey.  I am grateful she did begin this tread too.

Best,

Nancy,

I join the others with the happy dancing bananas.  I don't know how to do them either.  Wishing you the best and perhaps a stable if not NED report in the future.

Best,

EllenAnn,

Wishing you luck with Faslodex.  Painful, but only for a few minutes.

Envy your trip to the Biltmore Mansion at Christmas.  It had to be extremely lavish and beautiful in the decoration department.

Best,
