I am having some heartburn...not severe. I called the advise nurse who said I could take tums last night but I do not want to get into eating bottles of that for minor discomfort....anyone else have any ideas> None of my paperwork states anything specific for it. Thanks

Cinnamon - I used the cinnamon flavored Listerine Pocket Paks when I had heartburn from the antibiotics I was on during chemo. This was the only thing that seemed to work, even more so than drinking baking soda in water. The oncologist had told to me take Tagamet because Prilosec had an interaction with my chemo drugs. Since then, I've had minor heartburn once or twice and have also used cinnamon gum.

Ask for nexium, or something similar as these meds are tough on the esophagus along with the anti nausea meds and Nexium can help prevent any long term issue's!

The tums would not hurt you and would aslo give you added calcium but when I was on chemo they had me on 2 different drugs for heartburn, acid reflux type stuff etc..these drygs as Tricia said are very hard on esophagus and stomach...ask for prescripton antacid...
