Hooray!! Final surgery is May 8.  PS will "disconnect" the LAT muscle as I have this bulge under the arm - just like I did on the right side.  He did the "disconnect" on the right side last June along with some other repair work.  Too bad we did not know DCIS would rear it's ugly head on the left side a few months later.  Could have done it all at once with December surgery.
 
PS will also do a new nipple and a little bit more liposuction as my body absorbed more of the fat transfer from Feb surgery than wanted. So lefty is smaller than the right.  At least the lipo will be minor and nothing compared to the problems I had after he did abdomen lipo - weeks of muscle spasms.
 
So I am counting the days to be done and over with all of this.  The last 6 1/2 months have not been enjoyable to say the least.

I'm requesting good wishes/prayers for a friend fighting for her life right now and she may have surgery next week but nothing decided as yet.  Ann is in her fifth year of fighting Ovarian cancer and is in pain and very weak right now, please keep her in your thoughts and if she cannot be cured I pray she's taken swiftly and out of pain finally. xx

Tricia - I'm so sorry -- words just don't mean a damn thing sometimes...to see a friend or family member suffering is devastating.  I pray her suffering is over soon.

May 11 for me for bilateral mastectomy with tissue expanders....I think.  I discovered yesterday that neither the breast surgeon's office nor the plastic surgeons's office have initiated my insurance pre-certification process.  Both are still saying the other office needs to do it so I am stuck in the middle and getting bounced back and forth without anything being accomplished.  Nobody answers their phones anymore, so I'm always waiting for a return call, which may or may not come.

Diagnosed IDC 3/29/12. EBB 3/26: 2 x 9mm tumors, Nottingham Grade 2, ER/PR +. 
Pending bi-lateral mastectomy on 5/11/12.

Tammie - It's not difficult enough to deal with this damn disease, but to have doctors who don't return your calls == ugh!!  I hope the insurance issue gets resolved soon -- keep calling them until you get answers.  Arghh!!!

Most importantly, we'll be thinking of you and praying for a quick recovery.
