HERE HERE!

I discovered the most insulting wording on my insurers website; "under no circumstances will United Healthcare (yeah, I said it!) reimburse for hair prosthesis..."

No circumstances?! Not for a child, a young teen?

We pay thousands of dollars yearly for coverage; I for one never use the stupid insurance for so much as a cold!

Insurance companies are big business...they can at least pay a lousey 10% or $100 max for a wig for ANYONE!!

I am proud and bald (actually now I am Fuzzy!) and when people ask me why I don't wear a wig....I refer them to their insurance carrier and encourage them to complain!

HI

My tax lady did tell me that you can deduct your wig on your taxes. Maybe that is not much, but it is a little bit.

My private insurance didn't cover my wig and I had to pay for it myself. Many are that way, unfortunately.

Our secondary insurance just got changed to UnitedHealthCare 1/1/05. We use to have Aetna. I called them and they said they do cover wigs for burn patients, chemo or radiation patients. I have to submit to Medicare first, they will send their rejection to United Health Care and then they will cover 80%. Try it!!!! - Carole
