I'm not sure if I'm posting in the correct section or not but I am so upset. I can't even begin to express how I feel. It's like I'm starting all over again. I had a lumpectomy a week ago and went for my follow up appointment today. I'm not quite clear on what she said but she did give me the pathology report. Apparently she because of the amount of tissue (I l have I think) she has to go back in and remove the outside skin which is cancerous but not invasive and also drain fluid. So Now I go back for surgery again on Monday. I feel like I'm back to square one.

Hi Hannah, Sometimes with a lumpectomy the surgeon does'nt get "clean margins" and has to try again, is this what your surgeon meant?? if so don't worry as my friend had this too but the second surgery was fine and shes doing great almost seven years later!!! Please keep us posted on how you get on and if you dont get many replies here copy your message to the sound off forum:)

Hi everyone, My name is Dian, I am from Austin TX, I am 46 years old, about 2 weeks ago, the doctor said I had IDC on my right breast, I haven't seen any surgeon or oncologist yet because the pathologist report wasn't complete from the preliminary pathologist report, I had small focus of invasive carcinoma, small size of tumor, positive for DCIS high nuclear grade with necrosis, I have no clue what it is, nottingham score: 5 But other test such as ER, PR, HER2 still pending I was mad, sad when I got a news but I have friend who had stage 4 ovarian cancer and she still strong and smile, I learn a lot from her, now I am more relax and don't think much about it since I don't really know the stage, treatment, etc I like this forum and would like to share my experience and feeling, because sometimes healthy people just don't know how we feel anyway, I will keep posted about my condition and I am hoping the best for everybody here

Hi Dian and welcome, I'm sorry you've had to join us but this site is a great place to find support and lots of advice should you need it as there's always someone here who has been through the same thing. Good luck with the path report and please keep us posted!

I signed up on your site just to tell you how sickening it was to hear you have DISAVOWED PLANNED PARENTHOOD. Shame on you; you DO NOT SUPPORT ALL WOMEN.

Planned Parenthood Shame
-
Wednesday, February 01, 2012 8:00 AM
My donations, my families donations and many of my friends will now give directly to Planned Parenthood and NOT to Komen until your politically-driven

decision on Planned Parenthood is reversed. Amen

Anti-Women politics

How could Komen bow to the current anti-healthcare and anti-women attacks on Planned Parenthood..... I am VERY upset about your decision, making me question your motives and your effectiveness as an organization.

This will be my first and last message to the Komen Foundation. I have, for many years, supported Komen through my support of friends who "raced for the cure." Today, I stand with thousands of my sisters in arms, refusing to spend another dollar on an organization that would capitulate to the right-wing ideologues who insist that Komen defund services to poor women who receive help through Planned Parenthood. You really should be ashamed of yourselves. I thought you were better than that. Now that I see that you are not, I'm gone. And Planned Parenthood will get that money. Alice Lieberman

I am a 21 year survivor of breast cancer. I am appalled that the Susan B. Komen Foundation is withdrawing support from Planned Parenthood. SHAME ON YOU. We must support Planned Parenthood as a great support for women's health and reproductive rights.
