Hi, Sharon K. I am not having too much fun lately and have not been a good friend to anyone. Don had his pre admission testing done today and I guess everything was ok. He will be having his surgery next Monday. I don't know much about the procedure they are going to be doing. I don't think it will be too bad. He will spend a night in the hospital. I think I am just so tired of Dr.'s and hospitals and Vets......I want to be happy but right now it is very hard for me. I need a "happy pill". Do you know where I can find one? lol How are you doing Sharon? I know you had your tests done and everything was fine. I am so glad that you are doing so well. I will be getting all of my tests again in May. Every 6 months is too much but this is what my onc wants to be sure we don't miss anything. I sure hope I am happy by then. How are your "children doing"? Snowball has his good and not so good days. He has had a few not so good days and that gets me upset also. He just feels a little warm and he hides. This is just a normal occurrence with him for the last 6 years. He is eating and using his litterbox so he is ok. I just have to worry. Are your puppies behaving? They are sooo cute! .....and your beautiful bird. Sorry I am not so much fun right now. Too much going on in my life. Love, Mary

Mary--I still have plenty of Vicadin. If it won't make you happy and least it will make you sleep.

Well ladies, my PS and Radio-oncologist have both released me! My PS did suggest a new surgery to improve my implant side (I refuse flap surgeries). It's the fat grafting technique which I think is what I posted about recently "breast regrowth". They lipo fat from one part of your body and inject it? into the breast. I need to go online and find out more about it before I make any decisions. I dressed the bionic boob up with a tattoo and my radio-oncologist loved it so much (she had never seen anyone do that before) that she asked if she could take a picture and use it when she gives a talk. She said there are many women who will not even look at their breast(s) after mastectomy. So, that's my news. All good. Night, night. Hug Elaine

To all the ladies in the waiting room, my apologies for posting what I'm about to post. I promised myself I would not engage in this 'conversation' but I had a thought and I can't get it out of my head. I don't need a response, and I don't want to muck up the Waiting Room, so if you need to respond, please PM me. I just had to put it out there. I'm so sick and tired of women having to carry the burden....... "Why haven't I heard anyone, on either side of the issue, talk about vasectomy (which is usually covered by medical insurance without public controversy) as a form of birth control and include it in the discussion?" Hug, Elaine

Hi all. Just want to wish everyone well. I hope that your trip to England goes well, Sharon. I'm sure it will bring up so many memories for you. Elaine, I'm so happy to hear your good news. It's a little like getting out of jail! Mary, I'm sorry that times are still hard. I wish Don the very best with his surgery. I hope that he will finally be out of pain and that everything else will look up from there. As I was typing this, the phone rang. It was the doctor's office telling me that my AC1 blood sugar test was normal. It has to be under 6, and mine was 5. My fasting blood sugar is always borderline high, between 100 and 105, so my doctor was concerned. I don't know why I run so high on the fasting test, but as long as the other is normal, I'm happy. I also found out yesterday that my finger was not fractured. I hurt it a couple of months ago, and it's still painful and a little swollen. The x-ray was negative. (I also learned that I have an old fracture in my wrist, but I don't recall ever fracturing my wrist. Aren't our bodies strange?) How about that? Two good health results in two days! I'll take it. I also found out that since the mass in my liver has been stable for so long that I don't need yearly CT scans anymore. Yay! Love to all. Have a great weekend.
