I will be three years post diagnosis in March.  It has been months since I visited this Board, which truly reflects how well I am doing.  Early in this journey I visited daily -- as the worry was constant. yippee!

Hi J.P.,
I'm so glad you posted.  I love hearing from people who are beating the odds.  I think there are more of us than we thought!  I am three years out from the end of my treatment last July!  Everything is going great.  I have a PET scan Monday so I'll get new information on Friday.  My intuition says, all is well.

Congratulations to you.

Sadie

Hi,

I'm a triple negative and a two year survior.  My doctor gave me chemo first - I had 3 rounds of the FEC cocktail of Fluorouracil, Epirubien, Cyclophosphamide which is what they use in Europe instead of AC.  Then I had 1 round of Taxotere and Carboplatin.  I then has surgery followed by 2 more rounds of Taxotere and Carboplatin to make sure any cells released after surgery get the chemo. I decided to do a double mastectomy as I did not want to risk getting it in my other breast and I felt my plastic surgeon could do a better job creating two identical breasts.  He did an awesome job.  I did not get any radiation.

Had a whole body CT scan today to make sure all is clear.  Keep your fingers and toes crossed :)  It is always to scary to do these tests.  Every time I do and all is well, it feels I have another 6 month lease on life.

Take care,
M.

Hi Marjie. Good luck with your scan! I know the waiting for results is so nerve-wracking. Wishing you the best, Rena

Hi Marjie,
Just wanted to say hello.  I just had a follow up PET scan last week on Monday and had to wait until Friday to get the results.  I about 31/2 years out from treatment so it is getting a little easier.  I noticed I was a little edgy on the eve of my appointment.  So far so good!

Let us know how everything goes. We're pulling for you!

Warmly,
Sadie

I'm just starting this journey as I was diagnosed in December and will be having a lumpectomy next Wednesday. Although I can't contribute much,I wanted to let you know how encouraging it was to read everyone's postings. It's nice to know that you're not alone and that we are survivors! I was also glad to find discover this triple negative thread. There's a lot less information out there about triple negative so it's good to hear all of you share!
