Happy New Year Everyone!!!!!  We're starting another year!

I just want to keep searching for triple negative women.  The more of us discussing the topic, the more information we can gather.  Also, the wonderful stories posted by long term survivors has given many of us encouragement.

Keep posting please.

Warmly,
Sadie

Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year.  I will get my third chemo treatment next Tuesday Jan 8th and my last Jan 29th.  This will be followed by radiation for about 6 or 7 weeks.  I am feeling very and try to go to the gym everyday.  I have only missed a few times.  I hope I keep feeling good enough to continue.

Went to dr yesterday, had 2nd dose of Doxcil all went well.Staring 11th year. One of our sisters mentioned a web site TNBC.org.Its medical info for us and has a forum.I went on . It has a small forum but they are all like us pretty much doing the same treatments. It was kind of an affirmation that that were ok and its not such a mixed group which helps with fear and confusion.Whats good is there is a dr. on the board that just deals with triple neg survivors.

Sunbear,

There is also another site (breastcancer.org) that has a thread just for triple negative breast cancer.  I find a lot of information there.

Hi Ladies,

I am also triple negative. I finished all my treatments Dec. 18th. My first follow up is Jan 23rd with the surgeon, then Feb 5th the onocologist. After that every 3 months. I feel sometimes its all been a bad dream and hope its over.  Actually I feel perfectly fine. No side effects at all except a little neuorpathy. in my fingers. I have all my engery back and I worked through all my treatments.  I feel fortune at this point. I have also been on the TNBC web site and find it informative. I hope the year 2008 is kind to all of us.

I will be three years post diagnosis in March.  It has been months since I visited this Board, which truly reflects how well I am doing.  Early in this journey I visited daily -- as the worry was constant. yippee!

Hi J.P.,
I'm so glad you posted.  I love hearing from people who are beating the odds.  I think there are more of us than we thought!  I am three years out from the end of my treatment last July!  Everything is going great.  I have a PET scan Monday so I'll get new information on Friday.  My intuition says, all is well.

Congratulations to you.

Sadie

Hi,

I'm a triple negative and a two year survior.  My doctor gave me chemo first - I had 3 rounds of the FEC cocktail of Fluorouracil, Epirubien, Cyclophosphamide which is what they use in Europe instead of AC.  Then I had 1 round of Taxotere and Carboplatin.  I then has surgery followed by 2 more rounds of Taxotere and Carboplatin to make sure any cells released after surgery get the chemo. I decided to do a double mastectomy as I did not want to risk getting it in my other breast and I felt my plastic surgeon could do a better job creating two identical breasts.  He did an awesome job.  I did not get any radiation.

Had a whole body CT scan today to make sure all is clear.  Keep your fingers and toes crossed :)  It is always to scary to do these tests.  Every time I do and all is well, it feels I have another 6 month lease on life.

Take care,
M.

Hi Marjie,
Just wanted to say hello.  I just had a follow up PET scan last week on Monday and had to wait until Friday to get the results.  I about 31/2 years out from treatment so it is getting a little easier.  I noticed I was a little edgy on the eve of my appointment.  So far so good!

Let us know how everything goes. We're pulling for you!

Warmly,
Sadie

I'm just starting this journey as I was diagnosed in December and will be having a lumpectomy next Wednesday. Although I can't contribute much,I wanted to let you know how encouraging it was to read everyone's postings. It's nice to know that you're not alone and that we are survivors! I was also glad to find discover this triple negative thread. There's a lot less information out there about triple negative so it's good to hear all of you share!
