Hi everyone. Sazbro, as Gail said, I'm 23 years out from diagnosis now. My chemo was very different. It was CMF, and it's still used today, but not so often. What you're going to have is pretty much state of the art. I'm sorry that I can't tell you anything about your chemo regimen, but Gail and Nuzzy's Nana have been helpful with that. I wish you the best. Let us know how you get along. To all you other ladies, I hope that life is treating you well. Love, Rena

Hello fabulous triples! I have been super busy and finally our construction at school is starting. The contractor got me a pink hard hat that one of my students pasted a pink ribbon to. I'm ready to take on bc this month with a vengeance! I hope this finds all of you doing well. I have blood tests tomorrow and always hope for the best. Blessings,Gail

  Hi Everyone,

I am finally at a place where I can relax. I am in a very rustic motel at the beach. It doesn't have a TV, radio or a phone. My cell phone doesn't work here either. The weather is perfect and the sky is clear. I had forgotten how good it feels to have all of my muscles let go.

I am still having trouble with the Graves eye disease. I have three different drops to use and I have the worry of my eyes moving forward out of the eye socket or the muscles tightening so that I won't have peripheral vision. I was hoping the symptoms would just burn out, but they don't seem to be. It also causes your eyelids to be too open and that can cause complications. I guess it is just another wait and see challenge.

We had a better-than-I-thought-it-would-be family reunion over the weekend. My mother is turning 88 tomorrow. She is in the early stages of Alzheimer's. She told everyone we saw that it was her birthday and how old she was. The servers at the hotel restaurant where we stayed were so patient with her. Some of them heard her story at every meal and they never let on. I've got to write to their supervisor and say thank you for their kindness.

We ended the evening with a beautiful sunset over the ocean. The sun looked like it just slipped under water for the evening. I am thinking about heading to bed soon.

Have a restful night.

Warmly,
Sadie

Sazro, do scroll back as a few of us posted to you. I had the same cocktail you are gaving first go around with AC but I also had avastin and neulasta. I started losing my hair a few days after my second treatment. I did get a very short haircut just before I started chemo so that I wouldn't freak out. I recommend drinking a lot of water to flush your system after treatments. If water starts tasting weird try squeezing an orange or lemon into it. I finally found I couldn't handle water so I went to club soda and I mixed a sweetener with it (I use natural stuff so I used stevia or a little maple syrup). I found that ginger helped a quezzy stomach so I bought ginger candies. Eat what tastes good to you and try to relax while you are getting infused. I used visualization and I    blessed every bag of the stuff as it went in to me. My best to you and keep posting. Gail

Hi Everybody,
Hope you are having the beginning of a  restful weekend.  I got home from the beach last night.  I spent the day getting things put away and resting.  I have a very busy week next week and it makes me yearn to go back to the beach.  I still have Saturday and Sunday to do some favorite things. How is everyone doing? I've been thinking of you all.

Warmly,
Sadie

hello all! I have been looking for any sign of triple neg BC survivors and it looks like i found my spot!  I am 31 yrs old with a wonderful husband and 2 beautiful little girls(2 and 4).  I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer on Sept.11...another bad reason to remember that day!  I decided to take the agressive route and get a bilateral matectomey with reconstruction.  There ended up being one lousy lymph node involvement!!!!! Sadie, i am thinking i actually have the exact diagnosis as you....although, i am set to start chemo on the 26th of this month and will be getting a bone and ct scan to find out if it has spread(which i am absolutely flipping out about).  Hopefully, they will come out negative! I just wanted to get on this thread to keep up with everyone and let you know how much better i feel after reading all of your posts!  I was getting so depressed when i did some research on triple negative BC and it made my day to find all of you! thanks so much!

An underactive thyroid can cause your cholesterol levels to spike. Have you had your TSH tested lately? The reason I ask is that after ten years on a given dose, my doctor suddenly lowered my thyroid replacement dosage about 2 years ago. I was tested again recently and it was determined that I am again "hypo" and she raised my dose back up to where it used to be. In the meantime I have suffered from hair loss and very, very dry skin. I bet my cholesterol rose too. But I do not wish to "go there".

Hi,
My first round went along pretty well,  but I was wiped out, some nausea, but thanks to anti nausea meds, it was tolerable. The only issue was my port was a little tender after the treatment.
The nurses put a cream on it before my treatment to numb it and gave me a tube for me to use at home before the next round. My hair was already starting to thin out before the treatment due to the stress. Oh well.

Sazbro,
When do you have your next treatment?  I know it is really hard to have your hair thin, especially when you know the outcome.  I'm glad your nurse gave you some numbing cream.  Sounds like you are getting prepared for the next round.  I have forgotten the number of treatments you have to do.  We're all here to listen as you journey.

Warmly,
Sadie
