Gail I am so very sorry to hear your latest news.

You pose a good question, is there a conection between leukemia and triple neg.  I am going to look into that too.  Let us know what you find out.

I'm late reponding so maybe now you have found some answers to your questions and have found the right team to help you.

Best wishes,
Pam

Thank you my triple sisters for reaching out to me. I am dealing with this new dx the best way I know which is to round up a team to help answer these questions. I haven't gotten any answers yet but I sense things will come to a head soon. I do have a phone consult arranged a week from today with a naturapath who specializes in oncology (my naturapath referred me to him). Meanwhile I have someone at the Cancer Centers of America checking insurance things for me and someone at Sloan Kettering doing the same. I also have made an appointment with a specialist on CLL for later May which I may or may not keep. Any info you find please do share it with me and I will do the same. Meanwhile, each day has its beauty and I figure I should be enjoying it. My best to you all, Gail

I have been celebrating my 1 year from diagnosis, 1  year from  surgery and next month my one year from end of treatment.  However on my last 3 month checkup in April, the tumor markers went up and I had to have my first ever CT scan and bone scan.  I knew from lurking on this board that tumor markers are not that reliable in all cases and that they sometimes give false positives.  But it didn't relieve all of the anxiety.  Today I learned the results of the scans - absolutely normal!  Thanks to all of you that posted in the past about tumor markers. It gave me hope to hang on while I waited for the results.

Granny, I'm so happy for you! What a relief. The waiting and wondering is so hard, but the farther out from your diagnosis you get, the less you'll have this hanging over your head. Congrats on your 1-year anniversary. Rena

Hi Coco,

Here's the definition from the American Cancer Society:

Tumor markers are substances that can be found in the body when cancer is present. They are usually found in the blood or urine. They can be products of the cancer cells themselves or of the body in response to cancer or other conditions. Most tumor markers are proteins.
Hope that helps.
Warmly,
Sadie

Hi Sadie,  I'm doing very well.  I see the radiologist tomorrow for a follow-up post radiation.
I am off to China tomorrow evening for 10 days and just got back from San Diego so everything is fine.
I signed up to do some dragon boat rowing this summer and will start that when we return.
I hope all is well with everyone else and good luck today.

Well, I'm just back from the oncologist and figured it was a good time to update. Thanks for the well wishes. My CLL is stage zero and the recent CAT scan showed that to be the case. Yeah!!!! The recent MRI of the boobs was also fine. Yeah!!!  However, the CAT scan showed a lesion on the liver and an ovarian cyst. My oncologist believes the liver issue is a menginoma (I have one in my brain as well) and I'm sticking with that. I'll have a liver MRI on Monday. I leave for our home in Colorado on June 16 and I just want to go with a clear head. Keep a good thought for me..Blessings,Gail

Gail, I'm so glad you got good news about the CLL and the boobs. Good thoughts coming your way for the liver test. You may recall that I went through that in '06, and it was a benign condition--these benign liver things are so common. Sending love and hugs. Sadie and Coco--all my best to you, too. I'm doing fine. Pissed off with my hiatal hernia for ruining an otherwise wonderful sunny day, but that's small potatoes. I do count my blessings that I have nothing major wrong with me (well, not physically anyway!). Love, Rena

Good Morning Gail,
Such good news to hear your tests are coming back clear.  May you have the same reults with the liver scan!

Rena- Hope you are healing.  Have they told you what to do about the hernia?

Tomorrow I find out the results of the tests my oncologist ran to see if I have Lupus or another autoimmune disease.  It has been an eight week wait so I'll be glad when my appointment is over.

To everyone here, I hope today brings you joy.

Warmly,
Sadie
