Hello Everyone,
Just wanted to check in and see how everyone is doing.  I see some long time friends posting and some new member of our club. :)  I am going to look back to some pages I've missed and catch up with all the most recent conversations.

For new comers, I am TN and 10 years out.  Tricia I hope you are doing well.  Gail and Rena~ I think of you often.

Hi Tricia.
Thank you for the warm message and the dancing bananas!  It is great to check back in and see some familiar names.  I have an MRI coming up, but I don't expect it to show anything.  I am feeling great!

I hope you are feeling fine tool

Stay well,
Sadie

I, too, am doing well. It has been 8 years since diagnosis and treatment. The years fly by so fast now. There is no holding back "Father Time". ***********. But I am grateful for each and every day.

Thought I'd pop in to say hi and that I am doing well. I had my DIEP flap done in June, waited for that to heal, and now the last of surgeries is coming up in Dec. On 12/10, I'll have my left breast lifted to match ..a nipple placed on my new right one, and some liposuction taken from tummy to fill in above the new breast..just a tattoo left for aereola and that's it. My surgeon said there is a procedure to reroute lymph fluid to the veins and eliminate lymphedema swelling. It would be great, but we'll see on that next year...my right arm & hand is still affected. On 09/02/13, I was 2 years cancer free! I feel great.....my hair has grown way past my bra line, thinking of letting it grow and donate to locks of love, because I know what it's like not to have hair....thinking & prayers to you all..

Hi there, Well best made plans and all, I never got a call in or a visit to my west coast pals but! We are moving back to Colorado in February as i am retiring from my work in CT. We will be in Eugene in mid-March and this time I will get in touch. I am so caught up in packing my office and our rental here that i have little time for anything else. I do feel bad that I can't stay up to date on this board as I know what a support it was to me to have other Triples to talk to back seven years ago. I am hoping with retirement I will get back into the swing of things. meanwhile, I want to wish you all a joyful holiday season and do remember that life does not have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Gail, I hope you love being retired as much as I do. Maybe you will be able to spend more time in the NW on your upcoming visit. I wish all of us a very Happy Holiday and New Year. You said it best: life doesn't have to be perfect to be wonderful.

Hello to all! I have been busy packing and also dealing with weather conditions here in CT. I return to school tomorrow from our winter break and have two weeks left of duties. Actually, I am on my retirement benefits this month and they extend till the end of the school year. That will give me time to see how to budget our new financial reality once I start collecting social security in November. Clearing out of school has been hard. Students and staff come in to my office and look around at all the things now gone and tell me how much they will miss me. I will miss them too. Over the vacation I put my hand print outside my office on the wall in purple and pink! This week and into the next is full of doctor visits as I check in for the last time with my primary doc, a mammogram on Tuesday, a visit to the gynecologist who operated on me in October, and finally my wonderful oncologist/ hematologist who I will miss a lot. I have talked to the cancer center in Colorado, where I already have an oncologist I started with three years ago, about transferring records and films. The center here in CT wants to wait and have the new docs ask for things as there are so many files! Lol. Once I relocate my new oncologist will help me find a primary and a gynecologist. I know I am doing the right thing at the right time but it still makes me worry. Well, this coming Friday the school board is hosting a dinner in my honor and establishing a scholarship in my name. I am both excited for this and somewhat melancholy. Time is moving fast now and I wish you all a joyful, healthy year ahead!

Congratulations on your retirement, Gail! It is very hard to leave the kids isn't it. I am a former elementary school teacher, though my leaving was rather abrupt when it became apparent that there were permanent problems from my brain aneurysm which made it impossible for me to continue. I didn't even get to say goodbye to my second graders. The last thing I'd said to them was "I will see you tomorrow." :( Anyway, good luck in your new adventure!

Thanks! I hope you are doing okay these days. I just had a wonderful retirement dinner which also served to raise money for the scholarship the aboard has established in my name. Still packing here and a few more days at the school !
