Ladies here's another one who did'nt have a mold! I also felt the extreme fatigue from the first week and although it seemed endless looking back it did go by quickly. Good luck to you all for gentle tanning with NO burns!

HALF WAY...17 DOWN 17 TO GO. I am SO RED, but not really hurting. It feels tight in the mornings when I can only use something when I first get up and not again until after treatment at 11:45. As long as I am putting something on me every couple of hours, alternating the Biafine and aloe vera gel, I am ok. I asked today if there was ANYTHING I could use in the mornings and was told a polite, "NO. We do not want your skin greasy for treatment. It would only make matters worse."   OK...GOT IT. Now, find an earlier time for me!! I'm just kidding. I know that as long as this is all I have to complain about...ALL IS WELL.   HUGS.

Tricia, I am glad you spoke up about the mold because I don't recall ever hearing that from anyone else. I was a very long time here before I heard about that part and started asking questions. I think it was Gail or somebody making a comment about the "fine art" for the coffee table or something. Maybe it wasn't her, but it was around the same time she was doing her treatments. Who ever said it...they must have a much better "form" than I do...I don't want that thing. HA. [sm=laugh.gif]

HUGS TO ALL.

P.S. It was my one year cancerversary on 3/9/08. Not sure how to feel about that just yet.

Yeah, for you, Susan!  Half way is big!

I did not have a mold either.  I asked my rad onc and he said it was different methods.  I laid on a thin HARD table with my hands holding onto bars and my head turned.  I have 3 tatooes and was lined up each day with the tatooes and xy axis on the radiation machine.  I got zapped in 3 directions.

Here's the good news - I am one week and one day out of treatment and my energy level is returning.  Only my boost area is faded pink, the rest of my skin looks normal.

HUGs to all of you!

Did anyone feel really tired after just after two treatments.  I am not sure if it is the time change or radiation.  My first treatment was on Monday and today I feel sooo tired it was really hard to get up this morning. I can't recall my eyes being this tired even from chemo.  My husband thinks it's the time change since we are getting up in the dark.

I felt tired during my second week. I am not sure why now, because it went away. This time change has messed me up. I go to bed at my normal time and lay there for an hour. Hopefully, it is just the time change and will only last a few nights for both of us. HUGS.

Hi Susan, that's what i am hoping.  If the warm weather would start kicking in i think i will feel better ... but its just too cold.

For the past couple of days I have also gone to bed earlier because of being tired but it's just not helping.

Hi All,  I just had my 12th treatment and am starting to get pink.  I told the techs and they said yes that happens.  Just keep using the cream.  I am using the 5%steroid cream and the biafine 3 or 4 times a day.  My appointment is at 7am so I put it on after my treatment and then go to the gym.  I haven't felt tired but I think I'm getting  more sleep by going to bed at 9:00 and getting up at 5:30.
All the summer reruns will be new to me.
Take care and keep posting.

I didn't find it on this thread but has anyone had radiation with expanders in place?  My PS wants to expand me 100ccs over what I am going to end up with because of the need for radiation.  Wondering if anyone has any success or failure stories about radiation and expanders?  Sounds like the radiation can do a number on the tissue and my PS said can be a reason that they can't put in the exchange implants and would look at a different reconstruction option.  Anyone??

Hi Ladies,

I had my 2nd sim/test run today and will start rads on Monday 3/17.   I know this is going to be easier than chemo but I've been totally depressed all week about starting rads.  I'm sooooooooo not looking forward to this.  [sm=whew.gif]

This afternoon I will have treatment #18...HALF WAY MARK, YEAH!

Fatigue hit end of last week (about #10).  I find that the more I do, the better I feel.  I spent Saturday reading (read Valerie Bertinelli's book in 1 day) and doing nothing.  I think I felt worse doing that.  Working helps, as does a nightly walk.

Two days ago, slight rash under my arm and above breast.  The area around my scar is very red (12 o'clock).  No real pain, just discomfort.  I still have this dang cough!

How is everyone else doing?
