Hello everyone. My name is Molly. I am 33 years old, and am 33 weeks pregnant. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 30 weeks and had mastectomy 3 days later to my left breast. I'm currently waiting for the results of my oncotype DX testing and am going stir crazy waiting for what it says. Pathology showed 2 sites, a 1.5 cm Invasive Ductal Carcinoma and a DCIS. Grade 3 tumor, nodes were negative. Estrogen receptor positive so it is Stage 1. Tested negative for BRCA. I know every cancer is its own story, but my mother just passed away in December after a 17 year fight with breast cancer....2 separate occurrences in each breast when then metastasized to her spine, then liver. I'm scared! I also am super special since I'm pregnant and trying to figure out what to do for all people involved. :) Thankful for support of other women going through this!!

Hi Molly, I'm so very sorry you lost your Mom to this disease and are now facing a dx of it yourself, particularly at a time which should be one of the happiest in your life, I hope you have lots of support to help you through. What treatment is your Dr suggesting ??  I assume you'll know more once you get your results back and have a clearer picture of what you're dealing with, thankfully treatments and drugs have come a long way since your Mothers dx and there are many long term survivors here doing well years after their own treatment. I hope you'll take some reassurance from that and please keep us posted and ask any questions you need to as we're all happy to offer you support and advice to help you through this.

Thank you Tricia! I am so very thankful for wonderful friends and family who are here for us and have been so supportive. This waiting is the hardest, we still aren't sure what the treatment will be. I am thinking the oncotype will help but my husband and I both think chemo can't do anything but increase my odds along with hormone therapy. We meet with the oncologist again this week and hopefully can continue the discussion about what we need to do. I am so thankful to have found this forum to ask questions and see what others' experiences have been.

Re:Introduce Yourself - Sunday, April 13, 2014 5:03 PM
I'm a 68 year old RN. Got diagnosed with breast cancer 27 Nov 2013. Biopsy showed triple negative and HER2 also negative.
Had lumpectomy on 6 Jan 2014 and stared chemo on 10 Jan. The surgical pathology decided that the tumor was Stage 1b with no nodes positive. I had 4 rounds of A/C every 2 wks, then started weekly Taxol x 12. So, tomorrow will be #6 of Taxol.
I had the A/C nausea for the whole two months! I did take the Zofran 8 mg very frequently and have been able to maintain my weight. The pre chemo dose of Decadron 10mg was making me very emotional- anger, then tears, then depression and major sleep issues.. so I asked that it be cut in half. Doing MUCH better on 5 mg pre chemo. I took generic Claritin for the 2 months of A/C to help with the pain caused by the Neulasta. It really works! Taking generic motrin for the aching muscles and joints. The mouth sores get better, then worse… cold things help. I keep popsicles in my freezer. All foods are room temp, nothing acidic..
