Thanks, Elaine, for the good wishes. Congrats on your clear mammo! It sounds as though you have a busy summer ahead--full of family and fun! Enjoy!

Karen decided to come home for the weekend, and it's good to have my girl home.

Trisha--so sorry to hear about your poor kitty.

Rena:  Glad to see you back on the boards and sorry for your recent medical bouts.

Elaine--Have a wonderful time with everyone.  I am planning a Vegas trip for September. Mom wants to go and of course she is twisting my arm to go with her (lol).

I was sent for a DEXASCAN last week to check bone density.  Those results came back the same day as all is well.  Yippee! This was a baseline test so now they have something to compare against in the future.

As for me, this is turning into a busy day.  I work up this morning and started in the kitchen before even having breakfast making things. 7:00 am Sangria Slush for a party later (now in freezer slushing).  Nothing like the small of two bottles of wine before breakfast.  I have make a Strawberry Buckle cake and a Pumkin bread and just took those out of the oven.  Now the chocolate pound cake is in the oven baking.  This is the fist time making all of these so I hope they turn out well.  I've already heard the dish for the strawberry cake being klinked as it was being cut.  I know I'll find a chunk out of it when I go back into the kitchen.

Birthday party last night for my nephew.  Today is a party for my niece and then the ACS Relay for Life tonight.  I signed up for the survivor's lap so that will be nice.

I am hoping this day gets better.  It is supposed to rain but I hope it holds off.

Gotta run, hear a timer going.  Everyone have a pleasant day.

Tina, you sure are productive. If I'd done everything you did--before breakfast, no less--I'd have to lie down for the rest of the day! I hope the weather holds and that you all have a wonderful day!

Rena,

I hope the 2nd half of 2014 will be better for you.  My sister has fought a lifetime of depression and she is the same age as you are.  My son also suffers from depression so I can understand how awful it is.

Wishing you the best.

Update:

Finished the baking and went to the birthday party.  We had to move inside and then suddenly everyone's cell phone went off alerting them to bad weather.  Tornadoes were coming our way.  We ended up in the lower part of the house, four children 5 and under as well as ten adults.  The kids were watching a movie and we just waited it out.  The only time the rains stopped was during the sirens. Not sure how far away the tornado was or if it touched down.  Glad it missed us.

We to the relay on the way home and they had called it off because of the weather.  Don't blame them.  Safety first.

Oh Goodness Tina, what a shame but glad you all are safe and the tornado didn't hit you but what a time to get a  weather warning!

DJ, thank you for your kind comments and understanding. How are you doing? I hope that you're feeling all right and that things are stable for you.

Tina, I'm glad that you were all safe. That must have been scary for you all. It sounds as though you all made the best of a difficult situation.

We ended up having such a nice visit with Karen. She was a little under the weather, but we played some games, watched some junk TV and took it easy. Thanks to my pressure cooker, I was able to throw together a pot of soup for her to take home. They are always our babies, no matter how old they get, aren't they?

Love to you all.
