Sharon, I live south of Allentown.  We live in a little town called Emmaus.  We are northeast of Phila.  It was so fun to finally get our picture on.  I felt like a faceless person.  This picture was the one that was taken for the Hall of Hope in my cancer center.  I finally asked the photographer to shrink the picture so I could put it on the site. What big city do you live near?  The Eagles let us down but they did better than I thought they would.  I am a big Phillie fan and am really looking forward to watching them this year.  We have the pitching now all we need is for them to hit.  It should be a fun to watch year.  My kitty helped me get through some of the worst times in my cancer fight.  He is so precious to me.  Talk to you soon......Mary L

Mary, love the picture!!

Tricia, the twins are due to arrive within a couple weeks.  Sometime between Feb. 3 and Feb. 15th.  Daughter is doing great.  Still working full time and getting around better than most of us do with one!!  It has been so much fun watching her progress and preparing for the instant family.  We spent the weekend at their house awhile back and got all the To-Do List taken care of!!  Babies can come anytime now and we are all ready and waiting!!

Love the photo Mary and your Little Treasure is adorable:)

Sharon, Lammingtons are an Australian thing,  you make a Chocolate sponge cut it into squares and cover with chocolate icing and coconut flakes, scrummy.

I know the boiled cake sounds odd,   My Nan has passed but I'll ask Mum if she still has the Recipe!

Here it is!

In a Saucepan put:

1 Teacup of water
1 Teacup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda
Mixed Dried Fruit (as much or as little as you fancy)
6ozs of Butter

Bring to the simmer on the Hob for a few minutes 'til butter melted.

COOL THE MIXTURE

Beat in 3 eggs
Fold in 2 Teacups of self raising flour along with some Glace Cherries and Walnuts.

Bake in oven at 160 for 90 to 110 minutes, depending on your Oven.

Actually even I could do that lol..

I think Elaine should make this and we will all go to Pats house and eat the cake.  Now, doesn't that sound great????? I really want to get away from all this snow.  We got 6 more inches last night.  Evertime we get shoveled out it snows again.    Mary L

That sounds good to me!  I would love to have you all here, eating cake, drinking tea, wine, whatever....just give me enough notice to start heating the darned pool!  That may take a while....

Sharon, this sounds like a great recipe, but what do we measure as a "teacup"?

Mary,
I know just where you live!  I'm up and down the northeast extention all the time.  Is it cold enough for you?

Pat,
I'm thinking it's a cup,  Sharon I love all your Britti-isms, and I'm going to try making the boiled cake. (simmer on the hob) Found a bunch of recipies for Lammingtons on epicurious- they look soo yummy.

Pat, that's it, I'm on my way.  I LOVE Chase Utley.  I am a hugh "Phillie Phan" and have been for many years.  We live 1 1/2 hours from the Citizens Bank park. I  havn't been to a game in quite awhile but I watch every game on TV.  They are a really nice bunch of guys and alot of fun to watch.  You are so lucky to be so close to their spring training.  The Eagles have their training camp in Bethlem, PA.  I have been to several of their games.   Well,  I better go pack!!!    Mary L

WHOO HOO! You can take the girl out of Philly but you will never take the Philly out of the girl!  My mom was born and raised in the city, Germantown to be precise, and so was my dad and all his family.  I miss the connection, especially as I get older.    I also love Bethlehem, PA.  We used to keep our boat at Lake Wallenpaupack...now that was a time to remember....

That's right, my Tea Cups hold 210 mls of liquid.  1 US Cup = 236 mls., yeh, like I knew that, just googled it lol.

I had a nice morning taking Oly, my Maltese Terrier to the Animal Blessing Mass and he was blessed with Holy Water, all together now, awwwww :D  What a noise though, so many Pets and Horses, spent most of the time keeping him out of harm and hooves way!

Hi Pat, Hope it is nice and warm in Florida today.  It is 3 degrees here [in the sun].  Did you watch the football games yesterday?  I did but really didn't care who won.  When do the spring training games start?  Did you ever go to Music Fest in Bethlehem?  It really is great.  We went last yeat and took my niece from CA.  I like PA but I am sick of our freezing white winters.  Today I get to go have my mammogram done. I can hardly wait.  At least I only have one breast!!!   They tell you the results before you leave so I won't be waiting for a report.  Hope you have a great WARM day.   Mary L
