Rena we cannot wait to have you here at last, I switched my browser to Firefox so can't post some 'Nanners but I know we'll all have a wonderful time!! (says she crossing fingers that the cats behave and remember their manners lol)!!!:) Sammy once was behind me on the kitchen counter as I chatted to a house guest/friend from the U.K when she began laughing out loud as Sammy was behind me licking the cream from the bowl that was meant for our apple pie!!!

Hi ladies !!! Wow it has been awhile. I wanted to pop in and say hi to all of you. So much has been going on, I am ok, just stuff in general like getting laid off of my job of 20 yrs... Youngest son broke up with his girl (way long story).. good news is I am working for a company called Dynamic Vocational Consulting. I am loving it !! My pay isn't what it was but I am happy. A bit scary right now that I am uninsured but that should change in March when I can be added to my husbands insurance. Anyway... I hope you gals are doing well and while I haven't been active as much as I would like, I think of you gals all the time. Rena !! I am so excited for you (and jealous) getting to go to Ireland and meeting Tricia !! Can't wait to see the pics ! Anyway, take care everyone, happy new year. xoxoxo Grace

I was going to put this on Facebook, but I felt too embarrassed to brag to that many people, so I hope you don't mind if I do it here. I just finished editing a book, and in the acknowledgments, the author thanked a number of people for their help and ended with "the editorial magic of Rena Henderson." I've had acknowledgements before, but this was the nicest ever.

p.s. sorry for the bold--can't seem to get rid of it!

Rena - what a nice way to refer to your editing!  Congratulations and I for one, am very happy that you shared this with us.

Me:  I have my granddog, Mama, for a week!  Never been a 'dog owner' before….. this should be interesting.  She's very sweet and totally easy, but I don't like the idea of having to walk her :)

I'm sure it was well deserved Rena, congrats to you on a job well done and I'm glad the author chose to thank you:)

Elaine, I would have thought you'd love a chance to walk Mama, I know I feel envious of all the dog owners/walkers when walking on the beach:)

Rena,

Wonderfu!!!!!
I'm going to say I knew you when!    Are we permitted to know the name of said book?
I'm presenting you with a virtual editing Oscar!!!! The nanners don't work but imagine a line of them right here!

Elaine,

No worries with Mama.  Trade your elliptical for a few miles on the sidewalk for a few days.  You only need to remember one very important thing...pick up your poop!
And remember , a cute dog on the arm can't attract some beefcake!

Thank you, Sharon and DJ! I hope you're both doing well these days. I just had a call (finally) from my gastroenterologist's office. The nurse read me the letter that they're sending. My stomach polyps were all benign! Yay! There is some issue about the junction of my esophagus and stomach. He told me after the procedure that my hiatal hernia is 5 cm, which is big, but I'm just going to have to live with it because even though there is a surgical repair for it, the side effects of the surgery are worse than the side effects of the hernia. I know that if this the worst thing I have to deal with, then I'm very lucky. Have a good night everyone, and thanks again for celebrating with me. I cracked up when I read "I knew you when," Sharon! Trust me, copy editors don't get famous. Sometimes the people they edit for do, though.
