Congrats Toni and Grace.  I had a great day -- getting into schedule with walk with Grandson and DIL, Grandson broke a tooth, and local farmer is letting us take year old manure for the gardens.  Fun fun!

Army Mom, just wanted to say congratulations!  I'm a Mortgage Sales Manager but since we are a bank, this is not a requirement.....yet.  My boss is president of the MMLA here in Michigan and he was one of the early guinea pigs for the test and said it was not easy.  So, bravo to you and good luck with being back to work full swing!!

Thank you everyone !!
Jean, you are so lucky !!  I hope they don't change any of the rules regarding the banks. I still have alot of testing to go through for the individual states. I think VA is next and not sure after that.

Today is a beautiful day here in North Florida !! Nice breeze, blue skies. It should be a wonderful weekend. Tomorrow Athena and I will be making our first solo visit to the nursing home/assisted living home. Tomorrow night we are going to Guns & Hoses which is an annual charity fund raiser where firemen vs policemen in boxing.

It's been a beautiful day here in Ireland and despite having a horrible week with sciatica pain and a visit to the dentist, I wanted to share that I had a wonderful day at my training for the local cancer wellness centre.

The other volunteers are a great bunch of ladies and we're a team already, the lady who runs the whole place is amazing and I can't wait to be let loose on those cancer patients lol....
It was a good day:)

Hey Elaine,

You look great!!  Ok they things that have made me happy today.  Lets see I had Ben and Jerry's Coffee/heath bar icecream and it was almost as good as sex!!!  My grandson spent the night with me last night and he is so funny I can't help but be happy.  Children are such great medicine.  My doggies are glued to my side right now and I have taken up painting.  I have always been artistic.  I decorated my home when we bought it, and I have always played the piano and I was always in choir in school, but this really surprised me.  I started drawing, saw I was pretty good at it, and I have gone from there.  Most of the time I do flowers, and landscapes.  It's hard to be blue when you are painting flowers all the time.

Thanks and give me a call if you come to Austin again.  It is bluebonnet season here and it looks absolutely beautiful everywhere you go.

Re:Daily Diary of Joy - Sunday, April 18, 2010 5:42 PM
What a great weekend !!!  Was so busy and I am paying dearly for it now but it was worth it.
Friday night we went to the Arena Football team game. Jax Sharks beat the Orlando Predators. fun fun fun !! My first indoor arena game. No worries about burning up in the sun or freezing my keester off in the stands. :)
Yesterday, my corgi Athena and I did our first solo nursing home visit as a therapy team. She did so good and made so many people smile. We did the memory wings and some of the folks were just sitting in chairs with thier heads forward. As soon as they saw us coming they just got so happy. Some had to actually pet her before you could see the expression of smiles and happiness. I am so proud of my girl.
Last night we went to Guns n Hoses. A charitable boxing match between police and firefighters. 19 matches 3 1 min rounds each. What a blast. We sat ringside in the VIP section... our seats were better than the Gov of Florida that was there !! LOL Got to meet several Jacksonville Jaguars as well.
Today my husband and I shared the release of a red tail hawk with our good friend. He wild captured the bird a couple of years ago and they had become a great team hunting etc. This was our friends first bird and is an apprentice falconer (I think that is what it is called) Anyway, they typically keep the birds for a couple of years then release back to the wild. What a site to see the magnificent animal fly off to the trees. He will be getting another bird but this one was so special since it was the first one. Very interesting hobby for sure.
Tonight I am wiped out but happy to have had such a great weekend.

It's a great day today and I'm tired!  But, the reason I'm tired is I survived a weekend of outlet shopping with my daughter.  We left home at 8:00 a.m. and got to our hotel room at 7:00 p.m. then woke Sunday a.m. and started in again! Didn't get home until 7:00 last night!  That's a lot of walking, standing, cold (windchills in Michigan were 30's on Saturday!!) and I made it the WHOLE DANG WEEKEND!!!  So sometimes it feels good to feel tired!

Spent the day with my dear friend (since 1964), Louise.  We always have the best time together.  You can see her on Days of Our Lives - she plays Vivian :)

Today I went with my son and daughter-in-law for their five month ultrasound.  We are having a girl!!!  My only other girl lives in KS, so this will be all new to me with all these boys.

Hi Elaine,
What a wonderful idea! I am a newbie, will be starting chemo next week. I am grateful for the sun today and the birds singing and the green grass.  I've always loved Spring and this year especially reminds me of the renewal of life.

I am grateful for the change of weather.  Always have been a fair weather person.  Will walk to the nursing home to see my mom tonight.  It is always easier to see her when I have walking time to and from the home.  I have hated what I have gone thru but I would do it over and over to have kept her from Alzheimers. I wish I could have had the support of my mom thru all of this.  I truly miss the woman she was.
