Re:Daily Diary of Joy - Sunday, July 18, 2010 6:54 PM
So I'm sitting here on the computer, in front of a big picture window.  The temp is about 90 or so, and it's still humid, but I see God in the weather, and in every part of my day!  Have you ever seen a beautiful sunshine as
it reflects off every single rain drop?  Yes, it's pouring rain, and the sun is shining ever so bright!  As I glanced
out the window, it took my breath away....
This week I had my 6 month check up with the onco, and ALL IS WELL!  She said I look Awesome, and healthy, and yes, I do feel that way.  Blood work all looks great too!   Just 5 weeks past a complete knee replacement, and about 8 months before my 5 year Anniversary of those dreaded words... You Have Cancer.
Reading these boards today, and especially this thread, has touched my heart and my spirit. Thank you, Elaine,
for starting this thread back up.  Today is a reminder of all we have been thru... and I am ever so grateful to
be here.... Here in this Life.... and Here on these Boards.

I am missing Diane, and all the komen sisters who have gone before us, so much today.  And I have a new client who lost a child 3 weeks ago....  (this is a tough job, I must say  :(   Listening to Carrie Underwood song "My Temporary Home".  Just reminds me that this IS our temporary home.  This song is amazing
if you haven't heard it, check it out!

So I'm done babbling and bawling now, but it was a good cleansing.... I must have needed it

I LOVE YOU ALL MY KOMEN SISTERS......... so much.

God Bless you,
Breezy
But for the Grace of God

A wonderful day, spent playing with the 21 month old grandson that is here visiting.  A call from youngest daughter and also a call from our son giving us an update on our quad grandbabies.
Getting to talk to all 3 of the adult children in one day....so special.

Hope and strength,
Julie S

In the throes of my daughter and 3 grandchildren visiting from Austin.  Having a wonderful time with a few cherished moments when I think "will I be here next year for this?"  Not being morbid -- just feeling so much love and blessings from the universe that it brings on the 'what if' scenario :)

Hug,

Breezy - so good to see you too!  We had the exact same kind of storm last night, I came out of the laundry room, the sun was shining and it was raining like crazy..it truly AAS a beautiful sight!  Congratulations on you ALL CLEAR!!!!  No better words have been spoken.   And I love that Carrie Underwood song, brings tears to my eyes whenever I hear it!  Marianne - not from Pittsuburgh, from Phila, but my husband went to IUP and Pittsburgh is his favorite city!  Elaine, I know what you mean, I try to keep that thought OUT of my head, but it creeps back in at those moments.   It is so good to be here with all of you..in case we don't say it enough, thank you all for being such awesome sisters and soulmates!

First I want to thank all the people on this site who have kept me sane throughout this entire BC process.   I feel as though we all go through each step physically, our friends and family get are there for us, but this site as helped me mentally and through the stress of it all.   After each surgery there really wasn't a place I could go and talk anytime I needed to - but fortunately found this site and everyone is always here for me!

A year ago I began the whole BC process - and today I am celebrating my birthday and for what I have gone through- and cannot tell you grateful I am to everyone!!!! Thank you for being there for me!!!!

Happy Birthday!!!!!! You are right each birthday now seems like it should be like a 2 year old's celebration.....jumping house, pony rides and lots and lots of cake and ice cream!!! If nothing else, this disease reminds us to celebrate each and every day.....and especially those  days that remind us we have made it another year.

Hope you get to celebrate, dance in the street, and know your sisters here are dancing with you!!!  Have a great day!!!

Like you others I am so grateful for this forum and all of the friends I have met here.  I know that I can come here and will be understood.  We don't always agree but always understand the fears, worry and anxiety we all feel at one time or another.  It is also a place to come to celebrate the days our families don't remember, the day of dx, surgery day, first and last day of rad's. It may not be worth remembering to them but to us they are big days!

Happy Birthday Pink!

Hope and strength,

So much I could say today.  I found a letter my hubby wrote me during treatment and in reading it again I know that my soulmate of 35 years is the pillar of my life.

And for any of you that have not heard me blasting it all over FB and beyond, my youngest daughter is expecting twins!!

Congratulations Jean!  My kids are twins (boy/girl) and it was the happiest, most tiring experience of my life!  LOL  What joy to wake up with TWO babies each morning -- it felt like Christmas every day.  Wish I could go back in time.

Hug,
Elaine
