Tricia, isn't that the truth?  I went for port flush today and follow up with surgeon, and felt such a bond with everyone there.  It started with a woman in the elevator who had an appt with my surgeon, just 15 minutes earlier than mine, then someone in the waiting room who had MY exact story...what a group we are!!!!  I think of the stadium at the end of "Living Proof"...  I need to get a copy of that movie!  That is our very large waiting room!

Re:The waitng room!!! - Tuesday, June 15, 2010 3:53 PM
When I was first scheduled for the mammogram to check the lump (that I and the doctor could feel!), I had to wait 10 long days.  I decided to list everything I could possibly get done....lists always help me.  My house has never been cleaner or my paperwork more organized.  (Then I went for the mammogram and the machines were down, so I had to wait another agonizing 6 days!  I know now that I should have screamed and yelled the first go-around...they should have been able to get me in immediately...)

We can choose to let the waiting consume us or make the best use of the agony time...I always try to choose the former whenever possible.  A day is too precious to waste....  Doesn't always work, but sometimes..

Well, I've been in the waiting room on and off over the years since my diagnosis. I have another test on Thursday, and even though in my heart of hearts I believe it's nothing, that old feeling worms its way in. I have a swelling in my right armpit (the side opposite my cancer), and my doctor is sending me for an ultrasound. She said that it didn't feel like a lymph node, and even if it is, it could easily be from an infection. She just wants me to be vigilant, and I appreciate her attitude. So, I'm in the waiting room, but I'm the one sitting in the middle of the room cracking jokes (that's how I cope--class clown). Anyway, thanks for letting me vent. Good luck to all of you who are waiting. Love, Rena

Rena,

I just want to wish you luck on Thursday and will keep positive thoughts and prayers that the swelling turns out to be nothing serious.

Rena,
I'll be keeping you in my thoughts and prayers on Thursday.  Hope it's nothing more than some bacteria trying to make a nest in your node.   Will be waiting to hear the good news
