Sharon - DH is fine, thank God and thank you for asking.  When we moved to FL in 1992 he had been spending a lot of time in airplanes and cars and developed blood clots, DVT in his leg.  He spent the first week here in the hospital on Heparin IV and the n almost two years taking coumadin.  He had something on his leg last week that we really didn't lik,e the looks of so we went to the ER.  It is phlebitis, no clots, but a wakeup call for more walking and less sitting still for long periods of time.  Always something, huh? I saw you were going to be away for the weekend...back to school time?

Hello-  I am here wishing everyone in the waiting room on NED an b9 thoughts...Joy-Keeping you in my thoughts for only good results...

Farla- I was hoping that it was sent to dictation so fast ( 5-10min after my scan) that it meant all the radiologist had to write was NED.  I am sure hope that is all it says..  I am very hopeful, of course the leg has not been bothering me as much since I went for the scan.  Stupid canSer it sure keeps us on our toes.  Oh-well I love my life.  I cannot complain.

Karen- Thinking of you for tomorrow's appt.

Thanks everyone for the awesome support.

Hugs,

NED  is still my main man.....I was a little anxious today so I called the Onc. office to aks if the results were in.  I had to leave a message for the nurses to call me back..Well at about 4:30 I got the call from my favorite nurse at the office and she said " You are unremarkable"  I was so happy.  I do have arthritis in my neck, that is fine with me..It wont kill me..So I guess the leg pain is the aromasin, if that is the worst then I will take it...Thank you everyone for all of the support...

To everyone in the waiting room---B9 and NED for all....

Re:The waiting room!!! - Monday, August 30, 2010 8:03 PM
Just dropping in to give you an update.  Because of my arm swelling (it has been being treated for lymphedema...but it is my UNAFFECTED arm...which has confused everyone)...my doctor wanted a f/up ultrasound.  (I had had an ultrasound to rule out bloodclot before starting the treatment for lymphedema).  Today, the tech found a bloodclot.  She said, "Oh, the doctor will probably want to talk to you about taking aspirin".

I went over the the cancer center...and he has the nurse getting a shot ready for me!!!!  I had to have a shot of Arixtra...and will continue for the rest of this week, at least.  Tomorrow he is starting me on a blood thinner (?) walfarin sodium is the generic form.

Because of some other complaints/questions...he ordered a CAT and bone scan.  He didn't seem overly concerned...rather "hearing" me and my concerns and willing to do what he could to investigate.  I was able to get them scheduled for first thing Friday morning.
I'm triple negative...soI'm not on any other meds.

I also am scheduled for some type of test on Thursday that will check how I'm doing in regards to the blood clot.

I'm back at school for in-service days Wed/Thurs...so nice of the receptionist to work hard to schedule these around my schedule!!!  I'm grateful to deal with such wonderful ppl at this center!  Tomorrow I take my husband to the hospital where his kidney transplant was done for his 2x/year tests.

Those of you who pray...please include me on your prayer list.  I'd like to start school knowing everything is "OK".

Karen,
Wow a blood clot..Well at least you know what it is now and it can be taken care of easily (I hope).

I just had the bone scan and got the NED results today..I am praying that your scans will come out crystal clear with NED all over it..I am sorry you are having to go through all this, but feeling positive that we are going to keep the ball rolling with only good news.

Hugs and prayers,

Hey Karen, sounds that your well on your way of getting this taken care of, so glad it was found & I responded to you on your other updated post that there must be  a med to take to help dissolve this clot, I see here they have put you on a blood thinner... hey, deep breath & one step at a time...I know, I know easier said than done. In the mean time we're all thinking of you & sending hugs your way for a quick fix!!!! Patience comes slow when it's been one thing to deal with after another, you have certainly had your share!!  Get through today & get your tests done & report back, like the other Karen here just stated...we're counting on the "good news" rolling on.........XX OO

Joy is up next.  Thinking of you Joy!!

Karen,
A blood clot is preferable to having lifelong lymphedema.  The blood test will monitor your ability to clot after being on the blod thinner.  It's usually done weekly ro monitor the dose.  Good luck with the CT.
