Glad you feel well and are back home relaxing, don't rush the recovery though and take your time and thanks for the update.

Thank you for letting me know this. But my doctor said they will be doing day surgery and I can go home after the surgery, then after treatments they were talking about if I had to reconstruction. My question is why is it day surgery what ever happen to 1 or 2 days in the hospital? And for the reconstruction they said overnight is this all true or what? Can someone tell me please and email me.

Redandgreenangel,

This is an old thread so your question may not be seen, you may get more views and replies by starting a new thread with your question.

I know many ops are done on a day basis now, I didn't have recon so can't help you with that though.

Hi Angel ~ Yes, a mast is considered a "day surgery".  However, it is generally a 23 hr stay which means you would spend the night.  I just had my 2nd mast last week, and did spend the night.  My surgeons asked if I'd like to stay an additional night, but I didn't feel I needed to.  Last year I had the 1st mast and with that one I did stay 2 nights.  Each of the masts were with reconstruction. The first with an expander and the second with the final implant. You'll be sore and tired when you go home, but if you have someone there to help you, you'll be fine.  As with any surgery, you'll become stronger with each day. Good luck with all,
Leah

After reading all these posts, I see some of us are in and out as an out patient procedure. A night in the hospital would be good, however, my surgery for just the lumpectomy was crazy $$, I can't imagine if you stay he night.

Denise:
The length of time depends on the doctor.  For my bilateral I was in the hospital for two nights.  For the expander swap it was considered out patient but I stayed in the hospital overnight.  They call that 23 hour observation.  It's still "same day surgery".

Well tomorrow is the day. No one has said I would go home on Thursday, so I assume I will be leaving as soon as I am able
