My mom walked about 15 feet today!   It's a start!   It won't be easy, and hope she is up to the challenge that the case manager called tough boot camp

Dear Tricia,

I think you put in your time with Arimidex.  I hope that all will be fine and you will have a great cancer free life.

Tricia, I am very sorry about your cousin.

Sharonma - 15 steps is really wonderful for your mother's first try.  Sometimes AI can raise you cholesterol.

Thank you DJ and I hope so, my Onc said if I get nervous I can call her and go back on it but she feels a break is a good move right now in view of my joint pain getting worse, I was going to begin taking Glucosamine again but she said a break would be better. How are things with you??? are you still on Taxol?? I was thinking of you but know you have a lot on so didn't like to pm you.

Sharon, any more news on your mom's recovery? I hope she's doing well. And how are you--and Tex?

Things here are OK. I'm still coughing from the pneumonia, but not as much and it's more like a throat tickle than a chest cough. I'll have a follow-up chest x-ray sometime in July. I'm looking forward to feeling well again. It's been a lousy year for illness.

I have no travel plans until September, when David and I renting a house in Healdsburg--a small town in Sonoma wine country. We don't tour wineries, but we love the hotter weather (for a week, anyway), and the house has a pool, so we will RELAX! I may go to my sister's in Southern California in August--not sure yet. My oldest sister, Anne, will turn 75 in August, and I'll turn 65, so we thought it would be nice for the four siblings to gather at my sister Linda's house. We're waiting to hear from my brother whether he and his wife will be able to come. We so rarely are able to all get together. I can hardly believe our ages: 76, 75, 69 and 65. I remember when my mother and her siblings were that old--boy did they seem old to me! Life is funny.

I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the summer (no tornadoes or hurricanes, I hope!)

Rena I hope you feel better soon and get to meet up with your sisters and brother but age is just a number as they say. I'm reminded of something Bren said at my Mum's funeral service, he remarked to me that he was surprised there were no "old" people there, I had to tell him we WERE the "old" people lol!!! :)

Thank you, Tricia and Elaine. It would be nice to get together, Elaine. It's funny--when I visit my sister, I hardly ever go to San Diego. I fly into Carlsbad, and we tend to stay in that area. But if I think I 'll get to SD, I'll definitely get in touch. Pals

Hi Friends,

Still at my Moms.  Online is difficult at best.  Hope to be home soon to catch up.

Mom is home and doing very well!  Of course I'm a pretty tough coach, and don't let her slack for a minute, but I can't stay forever.  My family misses me ....and they tell me "the kitchen is a mess". Lol is nice to be needed.

Can't wait to see what everyone's been up to.

Stay out of trouble and will be back soon!

Sharon, I'm so glad to hear from you! You are a wonderful daughter and task master. I'm happy that your mom is progressing so well. I'm sure you're anxious to get home. It's been a crazy year for you, hasn't it? Take good care and keep us posted when you can.

I'd tell you my news if I had any. Same old, same old: work, feed the cats, clean the house, feed the cats, go grocery shopping, feed the cats, see friends, feed the cats . . .

Well whatever news I was going to read up on is now old news.
Rena, sounds like a family reunion is in your future.  Hope it happens for all of you.  I do "sisters weekend" with my sibs once or twice a year.
And you forgot to insert ( clean litter box) on your Groundhog Day to do list!

My mom is doing great.  She was robbed last week.  Someone , most likely a kid climbed in her kitchen window, WHILE SHE WAS SLEEPING, In her bedroom, and took her purse.  She later found it in a neighbors yard, and the took only the cash.  Rattled all of us, and where do people get the nerve to break and energy your home while you are in it????

Me, I had a cardiac calcium scan done because my last cholesterol was thru the roof and my test results were not good.  Normal value should be zero, or perhaps as high as 50 for my age.  Mine was 1100!  Starting Lipitor today and will see a cardiologist when I have time (after I get Carla off to pittsburgh ).  Oy,it's  always something, Jane.

Hope you lovely ladies are enjoying the summer and good health!

Xo

Sharonma - OMG!  I'm so happy to know your Mom is safe!  WTF?  I'm sure the Lipitor will help.  It's so difficult to control cholesterol when your body is to blame :)  Take good care please.
