Sharon I'm so sorry your Mom had that experience, thankfully she only lost money and it could have been worse, I'm sure she'll lock her windows from now on!!!

I'm sorry for your issue's too with health, my hubby was taking Lipitor last year and I nag him to continue but he quit when the news report  came out some months ago that it could be harmful, I think I just have a hubby who hates taking meds!!!

Sharon, your poor Mom! That's got to be an awful experience knowing that someone was in your house. I'm glad she's OK.

My cardiac calcium score was high, too. I don't recall the exact number. But I've been on statins for several years now, and my numbers are SO much better. I hope you get good results with the Lipitor.

And yes, you're right--how could I forget the incessant scooping??!!

I'm happy to report that my primary said "you are very healthy"...love hearing those words!  All of my 'numbers' are perfect. This doc has finally given me a reason as to why my tummy pooches out which doesn't match the rest of my body.  I have diastasis recti - ever heard of it?  Check it out online -- some ugly graphic photos and thank goodness mine isn't like that.  But it's something I've been frustrasted about for a long time.... I will start doing some exercises to see if I can reduce the problem.    (My grandson was right when he said "Yaya, you're not fat, you're just poofy:)  LOL

Sharonma - hope you Mom continues to mend.  Sounds iike she's doing really well.

Tricia - I do the same as Bren sometimes -- I make a remark about "old" people and then suddenly realize that I'M ONE!  lol

Rena - Hope to see you this month -

Stay well everyone.

Debbie no need to apologise and this is the place to vent, I'm so sorry you have to travel further for your rads and don't blame you feeling annoyed about it.  I also had a long trip each way and found it very tiring to go each day, hoping your other results come in soon and please keep us posted, just because you found this early doesn't mean you can't be mad as hell that you got Breastcancer in the first place!

Debbie,
That is a long drive, but perhaps a few audio books will make the drive more tolerable.  It is also a great distraction from all the cancer stuff.

My mom is in the hospital again.  Unrelated to her hip. she has some sort of bile duct obstruction.  Currently in the endoscopy suite.  Hope this will be something easily treated.

Sorry to read this Sharon, will be thinking of your Mom and please keep us posted!

I had a bad day, went for my usual long walk on the beach and my Ipod must have slipped from my pocket and I only missed it when nearly home, I had to retrace my steps so all in all I was out walking for three hours but no luck!:(

Quiet on here.  Doxil failed - progressed and also a fracture.  Wednesday, I will learn what is next.

Doxil only lasted 6 months, not good.

DJ:  I am sorry for your news.  As Rena has said, I hope you and your doctor can come up with something.

Well--hope from Vegas and now I am in the waiting room.  I had two doctor's appointments today.  One was a regular one and the other was for an endometrial biopsy.  Oh what a thrill that was!  Well hopefully this will shine some light on what is causing the irregular bleeding.

Tina, I hope you get good results from the biopsy. I've had an endometrial biopsy, and I know it's not fun at all. I'm glad you got it over with and will get an answer soon.  Was Vegas a trip for fun? I hope so, and I hope you had a great time! Let us know what you find out.

Vegas was fun. I was playing a machine and hit max bet in error.  Ended up winning the jackpot so that mistake ended up being a nice one.  The weather was extremely hot. Left here with the weather in the 50's got there and it was 97.

Rena:  I had the biopsy before and you're right it isn't fun.  This one didn't hurt as bad. When I talked to the doctor before it got scheduled, he was thinking the bleeding was hormonal imbalance but wanted to be sure.  I rather be safe than sorry.  As it turned out, he was stuck in delivery and rather than reschedule the nurse practioner in his office did the procedure.  I think she said I have to wait a week for results. till then, wait wait wait.

Have a nice day ladies.

Tina, Yay for your Jackpot!   Picture the nanners!!
I had a few endo biopsies prior to my hyster.  No fun, but you know we've been through worse, sister!

Are you on tamoxifen?  That is a villain in the uterine department, and can cause the irregular bleeding.

Hope you get good news on the bx.

We had the opposite weather pattern.  We left Philadelphia at 80 degrees and landed in Chicago  to 46 degrees.....without coats!  But a great time anyway!

Sorry I missed you in Chicago.  No I'm not on Tamoxifen or any other.  Just my body doing it's own thing.  The nurse thought it is just perimenopausal symptoms.  We'll see what the biopsy shows.

Just as a note:  Woke up to temps in the 40's this morning.  Heat wave today, will be in the 60's.

Take care.

Re:The waitng room!!! - Monday, September 22, 2014 11:31 AM
Tina, yeah the waiting is the worst part. It sounds as though this is probably nothing to worry about, but you're smart to find out so that you WON'T worry!

Sharon, were you visiting Matt in Chicago? How is he doing?

Vegas sounds like fun. I've been there only once--with my sister and brother. When we got to our room, we found that the bathtub was like a hot tub in the middle of the bedroom! We stuck with showers! Maybe I'll tag along the next time David has a conference there, but I need you to teach me how to gamble, Elaine. I haven't a clue.

We had a nice visit with Karen. It was short but sweet. I can't believe that she's pushing 30. She's still my little girl. As soon as we sit down on the couch, her feet are in my lap, and I get that "Mom, will you rub my feet?" look from her. Sigh.

Since this is the waiting room, I guess I'll vent a bit about my lungs. I'm so frustrated. I've been sick for the past two weeks. This week has been worse. It's the cough that bothers me. I've never had "chesty" coughs in my life, and suddenly, every cold seems to go there. All I can do is wait to see the pulmonologist in October and find out whether the diagnosis of emphysema on my last two chest x-rays is correct and, if so, what I can do to contain it. I know there's no cure. So, my anxiety level is even higher than usual right now. Fingers crossed that it's not as bad as I'm expecting.

Have a good week, everyone.

Rena -- I'm happy to teach you to gamble any time!

Maybe you have what I had?  I coughed for almost 8 weeks.  Took antibiotics and steroid inhaler.  Chest x-ray was clear.  Went for pulmonary workup (I think I posted this, sorry for redundancy) and my lungs are perfect!  It was a bronchial inflammation, nothing more thank goodness.

You've had your share!  Enough already :)  Keep up posted
