Hi Sasha,

I'm not sure if I replied to you already as thought I had, I'm sorry for your Mom's diagnosis and hope she does well. If cancer has already spread to the bone it will show up at first dx, however a bone scan can show other things like old injuries and arthritis etc so she may need more scans and a biopsy to be sure.

Bone mets are the easiest to treat, far easier than in a major organ so I think your Mom needs to get another opinion. Triple neg is aggressive but usually has a great response to chemo and I hope your Mom does.

Hello, I am Sue and new to this forum. I was recently diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer with bone mets. I recently started taking Femara, one pill daily, to help slow down any spread. I would like to talk to others about how you have been handling your diagnosis in hopes that I might learn something. I have a very positive outlook, even though I know that I cannot be cured. My doctor has me off work for the next year and I am trying to enjoy each day as it comes. I am fortunate at this time that the pain medication they have me on is working and I am starting my fourth week of feeling well.

Hi Sue,

I'm not stage iv but just wanted to say hello and hope the Femara keeps you pain free and stops any spread, the boards a little quiet right now but hopefully someone will be along who has a similar dx.

Hello Everyone! I have not posted in a while, due to probs. I was having with my username, password, etc.. I have that figured out (thanks Tricia!). Now just need to learn how to list my background? Anyway, I am Stage IV, as of 9/14, mets to bone, and liver. Was on Afinitor,-- for 6 months -- now on Ibrance. So far so good. Need to get weekly blood draws and my White count is low. Feeling super tired lately which is not something I' m used to. Looking forward to meeting you all. Tricia -- I'm confused (which doesn't take much LOL!). You recently posted that you are not Stage IV, but your signature ending states that you are. Have a great weekend Bev

Hi again,

Sorry but I can't see anywhere in my signature where it says I'm stage iv??  If you want to post your info just scroll to the top of the page and click on "User Control", it will give you options to do various things but when you post your info be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click "Save"....hope that helps and if not I'll post more info for you.

I'm glad you're doing well, will you continue on the Ibrance for now or something else? as to your low cell count are you receiving a shot of Neulasta or Neupogen which should solve that issue for you?

Hello all. I am still feeling good and on my way to New Orleans for some fun sister time. I have recently started taking Ibrance and i am doing well with so far no serious side effects. Take care all.

Hello there Tricia. I've been on Anastrozole for about a year and have begun noticing quite marked hair loss. Is this due to the Anastrozole? I am wondering if you have had a similar experience with it.
Have a great day.

Hi Marcia Louise,

I didn't have this side effect but it can happen although very rare, if you're not on chemo or other drugs that could cause this see your Onc and ask to switch to another AI which may not have the same side effects for you, keep us posted!

Thanks for your reply Tricia. I have been researching this since posting. I have recently stopped taking Terbinafine for a skin rash and I gather that this has a very high incidence of causing hair loss, from what I have read anyway. I'll hope that was the cause and it will come back. Again, thank you and have a good day.
