ONCOTYPE DX - Thursday, May 23, 2013 8:01 AM
Although this is the professional version of the Oncotype DX information site, it explains the test in detail.

Tricia,
Don't know if you would want to pin it to either sound off or newcomers, so folks can access it easily.

I just was told I have clear nodes. Next step to eliminate the possibility for chemo is results on the Oncotype DX test. What a great new tool.

I'm waiting for results from this test too. I'm supposed to get results on June 16. Fingers crossed for both of us.

I got my results back. A bit of history - I had clear nodes but my cancer was invasive ductal carcinoma. The test put me in the intermediate range for a re-occurrence within 5 yrs. So I guess it will be up to my oncologist what he recommends. Since this is my 2nd bout I feel like I will do anything to prevent a 3rd cancer.

Has anyone heard of a drug called Keytruda? My husband read that is what Jimmy Carter took & he is now cancer-free. But I don't know what kind of cancer he had.

This drug is used to treat certain types of lung cancer and Pancreatic cancer and not Breastcancer. However there are many really great targeted therapies out there now that you may be suitable for and I wish you luck with your Onc appointment, let us know what he says.

Re:ONCOTYPE DX - Friday, December 23, 2016 11:06 AM
It's been 6 months since my mastectomy. A lump about the size of a large marble came up within the last 2 wks. I saw my oncologist Monday & he ordered an ultrasound to see what it is but I can't get in at the imaging center for 2 wks. Has any of you had random lumps come up after a mastectomy? I don't know if I should be worried but the fact that my doctor didn't just dismiss it as being scar tissue or something else benign does worry me.

Taf hi,

I know you're worried but if it only came up so quickly it's likely a benign condition I would think. Its quite here of late as many members are using the Facebook private group page, this is the page but please keep us posted and good luck! https://www.facebook.com/groups/1588741974737166/
