Please I need an understanding of this report

HISTOPATHOLOGY REPORT

SPECIMEN: Excisional biosy of brest lump

CLINICAL DETAILS:? Fibroadenoma

MACROSCOPY:
Specimen consists iif a multinodular greyish yellow tissue measuring 6.5x4.5x1.5cm.
cut sections show nodular greyish yellow surface with focal haemorrhagic area.
Processed whole.

MICROSCOPY:
Histologic sections of breast tissue show proliferating monomorphic but atypical epithelial cells disposed in cribriform and micropapillary pattern. These malignant cells are also seen directly infiltrating the stroma as small nests and glands. No necrosis is seen but few abnormal mitoses are discernible.

DIAGNOSIS:
INVASIVE DUCTAL CARCINOMA
Notthingham Grading System- Grade 2

It seems that the person from whom the specimen came has breast cancer. The best person to ask about the report would be an oncologist or pathologist.
Diagnosed in 2005 at age 69 Two Centimeter IDC, Stage 1, Grade 3, Lumpectomy, Dose dense chemo, radiation. No family history. Tested positive for BRCA2 in 2007 Who knew?

Hi,

You need more info to know what treatment you'll need which your Dr can explain when he gets the full pathology report from the lab, good luck.
